The 5th edition of the international project FRESH DESIGN – Young Europe about Design is attended by the representatives of 6 countries:
1. Poland
The project is implemented in cooperation with a group of graduate students of the Faculty of Architecture at Wroclaw University of Technology coordinated by Piotr Michalski, M.Sc. in architecture, Anna Bać, PhD in architecture and with professors and doctors of the Wroclaw University of Technology.
The Faculty of Architecture at the Wrocław University of Technology is one of the best architecture schools in Poland. Since 1949 it has been educating architects and urban planners whose qualifications are constantly being confirmed by numerous awards, such as i.e. Diploma of the Year – the Award from the Polish Association of Architects (SARP).
Long tradition of research has resulted in establishing Science School of Habitat run by prof. Zbigniew Bać. Its aim is to promote the humanization process of living conditions. The idea behind the project is to improve life standards of people living in the houses constructed from large panels. Currently, the school is one of the pioneers introducing parametric design as a subject.
2. Czech Republic
The Ladislav Sutnar´s Faculty of Design and Art of the University of West Bohemia
The Ladislav Sutnar´s Faculty of Design and Art was established on 1 September 2013 through transformation of the Institute of Art and Design (IAD), thus completing the decade of its development. The school has gained a strong position among Czech art universities and it has become an educational institution of excellence in the field of fine arts and design. Led by renowned Czech artists the students are provided with excellent Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts training in a broad range of design, applied and fine art fields of studies. At The Ladislav Sutnar Faculty od Design and Art, 460 students are currently studying in accredited Bachelor and follow-up Master programs of art and design disciplines and specializations.
3. Slovakia
The Academy of Fine Arts and Design(AFAD) in Bratislava is an autonomous public institution performing creative, artistic, educational, scientific, research, development, cultural activities and international exchange.
The school was founded in 1949 and grew up to become the largest art academy in Slovakia, a fully accredited university. The goals of the university include: artistic education; development of critical and creative thinking and independent artistic and scientific research.
The curriculum provides a four year bachelor’s study programme and two year master’s programme in the fields of Fine Arts, Design, Architecture, and Restoration (the programmes are: Painting and Other Media; Sculpture, Object, Installation; Printmaking and Other Media; Photography and New Media; Intermedia and Multimedia; Applied Arts; Textile; Design; Visual Communication; Architecture; Conservation and Restoration).
4. Hungary
Budapest lies in the “Regional competitiveness and employment” area, which makes it a very attractive place for any kind of artistic activity.
Budapest Metropolitan University
Budapest Metropolitan University is the largest privately owned higher education institution in Hungary. The number of our students is about 6 000. The University has a wide range of BA and MA programs in the fields of business, marketing, arts, media, communication and tourism. They have extensive experience in several research project including tourism and preservation of cultural heritage; arts and media; communication and marketing; knowledge management. Their chosen motto is “Inspired by creativity”. The art of creative education is the core value of the University. It is embodied in their teaching methods, it is a central concept in their approach and their students’ attitude. Creativity is the force organizing everyday life at the University paving the way to the future success of their students.
5. Netherlands
The Netherlands is the only country in Europe where an inhabitant has more than 1 bike.
The partners who are engaged in the process of creating Fresh Design from the Netherlands are an informal group of students, designers, freelancers in the field of design. Since years, they have created concepts and graphic animations related with the creation of visualization for many companies. They are also involved in social projects related to the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. They have created for them film workshops that help go through the whole process of implementing videos step by step. The workshops were realized in Ukraine, Germany, France, the United States, Russia, Canada and other places.
The Honorary Patronage of the project is the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands with its registered office in Warsaw.
6. Germany
Pforzheim is a city of nearly 120,000 inhabitants in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, in the southwest of Germany. It is known for its jewelry and watch-making industry, and as such has gained the nickname “Goldstadt” (“Golden City”).
Hochschule Pforzheim
Hochschule Pforzheim University (Hochschule Pforzheim) is one of the biggest public university for applied science in Germany Pforzheim. It was evolved by the demand of specialist in the jewelry industry and science then it became to grow into one of the most important applied university of sciences with research as well as education institution in Germany. The Hochschule Pforzheim is one of only nine institutions in Germany which received the Harvard AACSB accreditation. The university offers a wide range of courses regarding to jewelry, accessory design, visual communication, industrial design, transportation design etc. at DESIGN PF.
